Pronoun

Pronoun কাকে বলে?

যে word Noun –এর পরিবর্তে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে Pronoun বলে।

( A pronoun is a word used instead of a noun or Noun Equivalent.)

Pronoun এর প্রকারভেদ:

Pronoun প্রধানত আট প্রকার। যেমন:-

1. Personal Pronoun- ( ব্যক্তিবাচক সর্বনাম)

2. Demonstrative Pronoun- ( নির্দেশক সর্বনাম )

3. Relative Pronoun- ( সম্পর্কবাচক সর্বনাম )

4. Interrogative Pronoun- ( প্রশ্নবোধক সর্বনাম )

5. Distributive Pronoun- (পার্থক্য নির্দেশক সর্বনাম )

6. Reciprocal Pronoun – ( পারস্পরিক সর্বনাম )

7. Indefinite Pronoun- (অনির্দিষ্ট সর্বনাম)

8. Reflexive Pronoun- (আত্মবাচক সর্বনাম )

PERSONAL PRONOUN

Personal Pronoun কাকে বলে?

যে Pronoun কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর পরিবর্তে বসে এবং ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে নির্দেশ করে=, তাকে Personal Pronoun বলে।

( A personal Pronoun Indicates the persons or things for which it is used. ) যেমন:-

I am young.

We are playing.

You are fool.

He is good.

It is cunning.

They are running.

এখানে I, We, You, He, It, They প্রভৃতি Pronoun গুলো Personal Pronoun.

Personal Pronoun তিন প্রকার । যেমন:

a) Personal Pronoun of the first person: যে কথা বলে তাকে First person বলে। যেমন: I, We, Me, Us, My, Our, Mine, ইত্যদি।

b) Personal Pronoun of the Second person: যাকে সম্বোধন করে কথা বলা হয় তাকে Second Person বলে। যেমন:- You, thou, they your, there, them ইত্যাদি।

c) Personal Pronoun of the Third Person: যাকে সমন্ধে কোন কথা বলা হয় তাকে Third Person বলে। যেমন:- He, she, they, him , his, her, them, their, it, its, hers ও theirs.

মনে রাখাতে হবে যে, pronoun এর Number, Gender ও Person উহা যে Noun এর পরিবর্তে বসে তদানুযায়ী হয়ে থঅকে । যেমন- Passengers show their ticket at the gate.

DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUN

Demonstrative Pronoun কাকে বলে?

যে Pronoun এক বা একাধিক ব্রক্তি বা বস্তুকে বিশেষভাবে নির্দেশ করে, তাকে Demonstrative Pronoun বলে।

( Demonstrative pronoun points so some definite thing or person) যেমন:

This is a book.

These are pencils.

That was a bird.

Those were picture.

এখানে ‍Sentence গুলোতে This, That, These, Those Pronoun গুলো Demonstrative Pronou. This এর বহুবচন These এবং That এর বহু্বচন Those. নিকটবর্তী কোন বস্তু বা ব্যক্তির বেলায় This ও These এবং দূরবর্তী কোন বস্তু বা ব্যক্তির বেলায় That ও Those বসে।

Note: যখন This, Taht, these, those এর পর যদি Noun বসে, তখন তাকে Demonstrative Adjective বলে। যেমন:

Have you seen this film?

Can you give me that book.

This pen is mine.

RELATIVE PRONOUN

Relative Pronoun কাকে বলে?

যে Pronoun পূর্ব উল্লেখিত কোন Noun বা pronoun –কে নির্দেশ করে এবং দুটি ‍Sentence – কে যুক্ত করে, তাকে Relative pronoun বলে।

( The Relative Pronoun is that pronoun which refers to some noun of pronoun previously mentioned and at the same time joints two sentences.) যেমন:

This is Hasan who played well.

Here is the book that you game me .

This is the pen which I had lost.

I mean what I say.

এখানে ‍sentence গুলোতে Who, which, that, what, pronoun গুলো Relative Pronoun .

INTERROGATIVE PRONOUN

Interrogative Pronoun কাকে বলে?

যে Pronoun কোন প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞেস করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে Interrogative Pronoun বলে।

( The pronoun used in asking questions are called interrogative pronouns.) যেমন:

Who is the boy?

Where do you go?

What is your name?

Which pen do you want?

এখানে Sentence গুলোতে Who, What, Where, Whcih প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞেস করার জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। সুতরাং এগুলো Interrogative Pronoun.

Use of Distributive Pronoun:

(a) Each: দুই বা ততোধিক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর প্রত্যেকটিকে এক এক করে বুঝাতে Each ব্যবহৃত হয় । এটা তিন অবস্থায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন:

(a) Each of the boys has got a prize.

(b) The have got each prize.

(b) Either: দুটি ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর যে কোন একটি বুঝাতে Either ব্যবহৃত হয় । যেমন:

Either of the two books will do.

(c) Neither: Either এর Negative রূপ Neither. দুটির কোনটিই নয় বুঝাতে Neither ব্যবহৃত হয় । যেমন:- Neither of two pens is good.

মনে রাখবে, কেবল দুটি ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর ক্ষেত্রে ‘ either’ ও ‘Neither’ ব্যবহার করা হয়। দুয়ের অধিক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর ক্ষেত্রে এদের ব্যবহার করা যায় না। যেমন:-

Either (any হবে) these three men can be appointed.

Neither (none হবে) of his five brothers is a lawyer.

REFLEXIVE PRONOUN

Reflexive Pronoun কাকে বলে?

যে Pronoun পেছন ফিরে Subject কে নির্দেশ করে এবং তার ওপর কাজের ফল আরোপ করে, তাকে Reflexive Pronoun বলে।

( A Reflexive Pronoun is one which denotes the object of an actions so that the object and the doer of the action are the same. ) যেমন:-

I saw myself in a mirror.

You saw himself in a mirror.

He saw himself in a mirror.

She saw herself in a mirror.

We saw ourselves in a mirror.

They saw themselves in a mirror.

এখানে ‍Sentence- গুলোতে myself, yourself, himself, herself, ourselves, themselves শব্দগুলো Reflexive Pronoun.

Reflexive Pronoun এর বিভিন্ন Form নিচে দেওয়া হল:

Person-Singular-Plural

Frist-Myself-Ourselves

Second-Thyself/Yourself-Yourselves

Third-Himself/Herself, Itself- Themselves

Reflexive Pronoun টি singular হলে এর শেষে ‍self এবং Plural হলে , এর শেষে selves যোগ করতে হয়। মনে রাখবে, First Person ও ‍second person এর Possessive case এর সাথে এবং Third person এর objective case এর সাথে ‍Singular এ Self এবং plural এ ‍selves যোগ করে Reflexive Pronoun গঠিত হয়।

INDEFINITE PRONOUN

Indefinite Pronoun কাকে বলে?

যে pronoun কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে অনির্দিষ্টভাবে বুঝায়, তাকে Indefinite Pronoun বলে।

( The Pronoun which denotes some indefinite persons or things are called Indefinite pronoun) যেমন:-

Some students will make the tools and others will help.

Many of the students were present in the meeting.

Any of the pens will do.

One should do one’s duty.

None of the poems are famous.

Somebody is coming here.

এখানে ‍Sentence গুলোতে Some, others, many, everyday, any, one, none, somebody, শব্দগুলো কোন ব্যক্তি/বস্তুকে নির্দিষ্টভাবে বুঝাচ্ছে না । তাই এগুলো Indefinite Pronoun.

RECIPROCAL PRONOUN

Reciprocal Pronoun কাকে বলে?

যে pronoun দুই বা ততোধিক ব্যক্তিরৃ মধ্যে পারস্পরিক সম্পর্ক বুঝায়, তাকে Reciprocal Pronoun বলে।

( The Pronoun which express mutual action between two or more persons are called Reciprocal Pronoun. যেমন:-

Kamal and Mina helped each other.

Mahmud and Rafi talked to each other.

The three students help one another.

এখানে Sentence গুলোতে Each other, one another শব্দগুলো Reciprocal Pronoun.

Note: দুইজনের মধ্যে each other এবং দুই এর অধিক হলে One another।

Use of Reciprocal Pronoun

(a) Each other: দুজনের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক কার্য বুঝালে Each other ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন:-

The two boys are beating each other.

(b) One another: দুয়ের অধিক ব্যক্তির মধ্যে পারস্পরিক কার্য বুঝালে One another ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন:- The boys in the class love one another.
