Answer: Drug addiction means an excessive attraction to illegal hard substance or drug, such as, heroin, cocaine, marijuana etc. Drug addiction is a curse of modern civilization. It is now a global problem. Frustration is the cause of this addiction. When there is no hope left for the young people, they become addicted to drug. The drugs are very expensive. Young boys cannot afford to buy them. In order to arrange money, they have to commit many kinds of social crimes like hijacking, looting, plundering, killing etc. Drug addiction has a terrible effect on human body. People feel drowsy and lose appetite. The poisonous effect of drug is dangerous. It may damage the brain and all internal functions of the body. The addicts feel intensive pain in the body. The treatment of the drug addicts is expensive and difficult. In Bangladesh the drug problem has become so acute. Thousands of families in cities, towns and even rural areas are directly or indirectly affected by it. Recently, Bangladesh is often used by the in international drug smugglers as transit of transmission of drug from one country to another. The remedy for drug addiction is not very easy. All concerned must create awareness at personal and family levels against the dangerous impact of drug addiction among the youth. Answer: Drug addiction means taking heroin, opium, marijuana, morphine, cocaine, phencidyl etc. Nowadays drug addiction has become a serious global problem. Drug addiction comes from frustration and this frustration is the product of failure in all walks of life. Drug addiction is more powerful than cancer for cancer attacks a man individually but drug addiction massacres the whole nation. It brings social crimes like hijacking, looting, plundering, killing, robbery, rape, unrest, terrorism and so on. Drug addiction is a slow poison which causes terrible effect on the victim. It damages physical charm and the normal activity of human body. This social curse must not be continued any more for the batter interest of the society and the world as a whole. Not only the government but the joint efforts of all can also uproot such a disgraceful issue.
